Essex County authorities are looking into a car crash that had fatal injuries reported during the overnight hours in Glen Ridge.
According to preliminary, emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Hig Street after they received information of a crash with injuries before 10:30 p.m.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and observed at least one person ejected from the vehicle with one other person still inside the car according to reports.
At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene and the second victim injuries were only reported as life-threatening and severe.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
UPDATE: Katherine Carter, spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office confirmed that both the driver and his passenger were killed in the crash.
