East Orange Man Charged with Three Newark Murders Plead Not Guilty

An East Orange man accused of killings a couple and a woman in Newark pleaded not guilty this morning during his arraignment hearing before Superior Court Judge Ronald Wigler.

Jeffrey Holland, 27, of East Orange, was charged with the deaths of Ashley Jones, 23, Jarrell Marshall, 28 and Tiniquah Rouse, 21, remains in custody at the Essex Count Correctional Facility on $2.5 million bail.

On January 30th, police arrived to a Clinton Place home where they found Ashley Jones, 23, and Jarrell Marshall, 28, shot to death while three children under five were inside the home.

On January 29th, 21-year-old Taniquah Rouse, was found strangled to death inside a Stratford Place home, where a five-month-old baby - identified as Rouse's son - was foundĀ inside a closet.

According to Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter, Holland has prior romantic relationships with both woman and believe that domestic disputes appear to have prompted the killings.

Holland was taken into custody on Feb. 1st
