DEVELOPING MONTCLAIR NJ: Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Car in Montclair

The Essex County Prosecutor's Officer are actively investigating a pedestrian strike that left one person dead this morning on a street in Montclair.

Details regarding the incident are developing but according to a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office, the incident happening at around 8:45 a.m. on Bloomfield Avenue near The Montclair Kimberly Academy.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene when they received reports of an unidentified male lying on the ground suffering severe injuries.

Crews arrived and found the victim who they later pronounced dead according to The Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
