Detectives from the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene of a shooting with one person down in Bayonne at this time.
The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on Prospect and East 25th Street where police reportedly fired their weapon on a suspect, striking and injuring him at that location.
The circumstances behind what caused the incident is not clear at this time.
There are no reports of injured police officers.
The extent of the victim's injuries are unknown.
