Authorities confirm that an unidentified man was fatally shot and another man was wounded at a Route 1 motel in the township this morning.
Police were called to the Loop Inn Motel at 4:53 a.m. for reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police found two victims, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:36 a.m.
The second victim was taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he was listed in critical condition.
No arrests have been made, but an investigation is active and is continuing.
