New Jersey State Police are looking into a crash that closed several lanes on a NJ highway and severely injured one person to the hospital during the overnight hours.

According to preliminary reports, the violent crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-280 at Pleasant Valley Way just before 1:25 a.m. where State Troopers were notified of a collision with injuries.

Upon their arrival, they found a severely damaged vehicle that burst into flames after it overturned at that location.

As of 4:30 a.m., we could only officially confirm 'life-threatening injuries' for at least one occupant of the vehicle.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is in its early stages.
