UPDATE: Clifton Police Apprehend 15-Year-Old Passenger After Stolen Vehicle Pursuit; Driver Escapes

A police pursuit ended when the driver of a stolen vehicle — also occupied by a 15-year-old boy — crashed the vehicle into another car early Tuesday morning.

Authorities say Officer Jessenia Levy was patrolling the area of Hazel Street and Grant Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. when she spotted a stolen 2004 Honda Accord.

Officials say when Officer Jessenia Levy with the assistance of from Sgt. Robert Domski and Officer Edgar Duran attempted to pull the vehicle over, both the driver and front-seat passenger jumped from the car, which crashed into a nearby car.

A foot pursuit ensued and resulted in the apprehension of the 15-year-old Clifton boy who was allegedly found hiding under a car on Crooks Avenue. The alleged driver escape, police added.

Police filed a complaint charging teen with receiving stolen property, obstructions and resisting arrest. He was later released to an adult.
