Police are on the scene of shots fired with a male victim down in the city at this time.
Gunfire rang out in the 100 block of Main Street shortly before 1:15 p.m. sending a large police response to the scene where they located a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the head according to reports.
As of right now, we can only report "life threatening" injuries.
A burgundy Ford Fusion that's occupied by several black male suspects were observed leaving the scene.

There is a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
**UPDATE 2:16 p.m.** The victim is being reported as a juvenile at this time.
**UPDATE 2:24 p.m.** This is a confirmed fatal shooting.
**UPDATE 4:27 p.m. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is handling the homicide investigation.
