EMS is transporting a man to Jersey City Medical Center suffering life-threatening injuries after being shot a short time ago in the city.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 300 block of Van Horne Street at around 5:45 p.m. where officers found the victim struck by gunfire at that location.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at the hospital.
A black male suspect, who was observed wearing sweat pants and a hoodie, fled the scene according to reports.
There is an active crime scene in the established in the area.
