BREAKING: Life Threatening Injuries Reported in Jersey City Car Crash

There is a crash investigation underway on a street in Jersey City as authorities determine what caused two cars to collide, leaving three people injured early Friday morning.

According to police, the crash happened at approximately 4:32 a.m. at the intersection of JFK Boulevard and Fairmount Avenue, sending police to the scene where they found an SUV and Taxi cab collided at that location.

Police say at least three people were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center, with one of the victims severely injured.

Jersey City emergency responders used the "Jaws of Life" to extricate victims from the vehicle from what's being identified as a high-speed collision.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
