BREAKING: Active Search Underway for Missing NJ Kayaker in Navesink River

There is an active search conducted by several area emergency responder conveniences and law enforcement agencies in Monmouth County and NJ State Police as crews look for a missing kayaker in Rumson at this time.

According to preliminary reports, at approximately 4:25 a.m., police were notified of an empty kayak in the waters of the Navesink River.

The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office arrived and confirmed that two individuals that were on board but only one returned back to shore.

Offcials expanded their search to several miles around where the kayak was found, but as of 7:30 a.m., there were no sightings of the kayaker.

News 12 NJ said the brother of the missing man identifies him as 50 y/o Mr Nadem Aksoy of Bordentown, Burlington County.

News12 NJ said the pair was apparently in the kayak fishing when storms hit around midnight.

The search and investigation remain active and ongoing.
