Body of Woman Found Inside Vacant House in Totowa

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Robert Coyle announce that at approximately 1:21 p.m. on May 15, 2018, members of the Totowa Police were called to 340 Totowa Road in Totowa by a concerned citizen regarding a strange odor coming from the vacant multi-family dwelling at that location.

Upon their arrival, police officers located the body of a deceased unidentified female inside the building.

The preliminary results of the investigation suggest that there is no indication that the death is suspicious.

Authorities say at this time, no suspects are being sought, and there is nothing to indicate that there is any danger to the public.

The identity of deceased individual has not yet been determined.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Totowa Police Department, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Jersey Medical Examiner’s Office.
