Authorities are investigating a death of a person found in the city's North Ward early this morning.
Police responded to reports of an injured person on Lincoln Avenue between Delevan and Chester Avenue at around 5 a.m. where officers found a critically injured male victim at that location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where the victim died from his injuries.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office confirmed an investigation but the cause and nature of the victim's injuries could not immediately be confirmed.
Authorities believe that the victim may have been struck by a vehicle.
