Police announced that an investigation is underway for the murder of Khalil Williams, 25, of Newark.
According to authoritites, Newark Police responded to Avon Avenue Sunday night where they found Williams suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a yard.
EMS transported Williams to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
So far no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified authoritites said.
