ALERT: Public's Help Sought in Identifying Male Struck by Car on McCarter Highway in Newark

Police in Newark need your assistance in identifying a male who was struck by a vehicle on Monday, October 8th in the city.

Police say shortly before 10:30 p.m., the unidentified male was struck by a vehicle in the area of McCarter Highway and Clay Street.

EMS rushed the man to University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police say the driver remained at the scene.

The victim is described as Hispanic, approximately 5’8” tall, 175 lbs. and has short, wavy dark-brown hair and wore a red shirt, black jeans and a multi-colored jacket.

While detectives investigating this incident are actively seeking to identify the victim, they seek the public’s help.
