70-Year-Old Morris County Man Charged With Explicit Contact of Minor

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Kinnelon Borough Police Chief John Schwartz announce that Thomas Thomasevich, 70, of Oakland, has been charged with two counts of Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2(b), a crime of the second degree; two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the third degree; and six counts of Cruelty & Neglect of Children in violation of N.J.S.A. 9:6-3, a crime of the fourth degree.

This 70-year-old defendant is alleged to have committed acts of sexual contact on two minor female students known to him while he was working as a driver for the First Student Bus Company, located out of Butler.

Such acts were committed in the presence of several other minor students.

The defendant has been charged by warrant-complaint and is currently lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
