A person riding a scooter was struck and fatally injured in a section of Jackson Township on Monday night.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 9:35 p.m., emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Jackson Mills and Harmon roads after learning of a person down in the roadway.
Upon arrival, rescue crews found a severely injured, unidentified, unresponsive and unconscious person who had been struck by a car near the intersection.
Medical professionals administered CPR before the injured was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police temporarily closed the intersection for the crash investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
