A devastating incident took place at the Academy Arms Apartment Complex in Clayton, New Jersey, leading to the deaths of Ms. Nina D. Sinclair-Green, 43, and Anthony J. Williams, 45, in what has been determined as a murder-suicide by authorities.

Newark Officials said the tragedy occurred around 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7,  when Clayton Police were called to the scene following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found Sinclair-Green and Williams deceased in the apartment they shared.

According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation revealed a terrible sequence of events where Williams fatally shot Sinclair-Green as she was preparing to move out of the apartment. Sinclair-Green was at the apartment to pack her belongings with the assistance of her family, who were waiting outside in a vehicle.

In a further violent act, officials said Williams fired several shots from a semi-automatic handgun through the front door of the apartment, striking the vehicle occupied by Sinclair-Green’s family members.

Miraculously, no one in the vehicle was injured. Williams then turned the gun on himself, ending his life inside the apartment.
