Firefighters Battle Early Morning Barn Fire in Upper Freehold

There were no serious injuries reported in a fire that destroyed a barn in Upper Freehold Township.

The early morning fire tore through a barn located at 5 Harvey Road before 1:30 a.m. sending firefighters and mutual assistance from several towns to the scene where they arrived to find the barn fully involved in fire.

Crews went on a defensive attack where they drowned out the stubborn blaze with large amounts of water.

Firefighters were able the gain control of the fire in about an hour with a search of the structure finding no trapped or injured occupants.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
