Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Toms River Involves Pedestrian and Vehicle

Authorities in Ocean County are actively investigating a deadly collision that occurred Wednesday night on Route 166 near Stella Plaza in Toms River, which involved a motorcycle, a vehicle, and a pedestrian.AdAccording to a brief statement from Toms River Police, the accident tragically resulted in the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a motorcycle. 

The section of Route 166 between Lomell Lane and Mapletree Road is currently closed as the New Jersey State Diversion Team assists with the investigation.

Responders at the scene include the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Ocean County Sheriff's Department CSI, and the Toms River Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.

As the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office takes the lead in this active investigation, details about what caused the crash have yet to be determined.

Toms River Police officials are working to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic event and are asking anyone with information about the crash to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
