Elizabeth Police Officer Injured, Several Arrested After High-Speed Chase

Late last night, an incident involving a high-speed police chase resulted in the injury of an Elizabeth police officer and several arrests.Real EstateThe situation took place around 11:20 p.m. when Elizabeth Police pursued a Mercedes-Benz carrying multiple felony suspects along US 1 and 9 North.

The driver crashed the vehicle at Haynes Avenue in Newark. Reports say the chase culminated when about five individuals fled on foot.

During the incident, one officer sustained a non-life-threatening leg injury but is expected to recover fully.

Following the initial confrontation, police searched the surrounding area near the airport, employing both on-foot officers and drone technology to locate any additional suspects.

The incident remains under active investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the chase and subsequent arrests.

No other officers were injured.
