Driver Found Burned to Death Inside Vehicle on Highway in NJ

NJ State Police officials are investigating a fatal car fire that occurred on an interstate in Burlington County Monday. 

According to preliminary information, police responded to the northbound 47B exit ramp of I-295 to investigate a vehicle fire report at approximately 4:25 a.m. 

Upon arrival, police shut down the exit ramp after finding a fully involved fire igniting a car with the driver reportedly trapped inside the vehicle. 

Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze, but medical personnel pronounced the severely burned victim dead at the scene. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
