Cooler Temperatures and Cloudy Skies Close Out April in North Jersey

As North Jersey residents wake up this morning, they'll notice a chill in the air, marking a cooler start to the day compared to yesterday.TinyAt 4:30 a.m., temperatures have dipped to a more seasonable 58 degrees, signaling the end of an interesting April in terms of weather.

The National Weather Service forecasts a cloudy day with a high near 67 degrees for the Newark and North Jersey region.

NWS forecasters said an east wind around eight mph will accompany the overcast conditions, providing a brisk backdrop to the day. Spotty rain is expected to dot the area, particularly affecting some parts of North Jersey throughout the day.

As evening approaches, the chance of showers increases to 50 percent, mainly after 8 p.m.

The night will remain cloudy, with temperatures dropping to a low of around 53 degrees.
